READ:

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2)

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36)

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)

DEVOTIONAL

When you’re in the grip of addiction, it’s hard to imagine a way out. You may quickly learn the hard way that white-knuckling it only goes so far. Thankfully, you are not alone. God never expected you to overcome temptation through willpower alone. He wants to provide you with supernatural strength, grace, and freedom. God also wants to renew your mind with truth, but it doesn’t happen overnight.

Stay committed to the process and let God finish the work He started in you. Submit to Him daily, and memorize verses that bring you strength. Stay rooted in community. Trust that God is on your side, fighting your battles with you. He will never leave you or forsake you. His mercies are new every morning.

DECLARATION

When I am stressed or in times of distress, I turn to God, not to ______. I come to Jesus because He is everything I need. He is my strength, my fortress, and my refuge in my time of struggle. He will empower me every day. I am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ who loves me!

PRAYER

Jesus I thank you that you provide strength in my times of need. Fill me with your power and your presence. Help me walk in complete freedom. Replace every lie with truth. Align my desires with your desires. In Jesus’ name, amen.
