Fight on Your Knees

READ:

I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
John 17:21
For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.
Ephesians 6:12
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Matthew 5:9
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Matthew 5:44

DEVOTIONAL:

Have you ever tried making something right, only to make it worse? Maybe it was a rocky apology or a reconciliation attempt that ended in a misunderstanding. We all make mistakes in relationships, but God wants us to learn how to rely on His strength and power as we grow in this area. In a world full of division, it’s more important than ever for believers to lead the way in peacemaking.

One way to grow as a peacemaker is to fight on our knees. There are plenty of people fighting online, but as Christ-followers, we know where the real battle lies. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. When we encounter division, strife, and misunderstandings, let it serve as a reminder to pray for unity as Jesus did.

Take time today to identify any areas where you might be tempted to fight in your own strength—to defend your position, argue, or become offended. Bring that situation to God in prayer and ask for His strength, peace, wisdom, and guidance. He will be faithful to show you how to bring peace and reflect His presence.

PRAYER:

Jesus, thank you for being a peacemaker. Help me to reflect your character to a hurting and divided world. I bring to you the situations in my life where there is strife and unrest. Bring unity and peace, and let your love flow through me. Amen.
