Declarations for All the Holiday Feels
Here's how to speak truth when you feel lonely, anxious, rejected, or hopeless.
Christ Fellowship Team
The holidays can bring unexpected emotions to the surface. Instead of stuffing them down or pretending they don't exist, here's one way you can surrender those emotions to God and speak truth. If you're feeling anxious, lonely, hopeless, or afraid of rejection, read the corresponding declaration and look up the verses below.
Anxiety
I may feel anxious, but anxiety has no authority.
Because You are my Prince of Peace, I will fix my thoughts on You. You steady my mind and calm my heart. Today I choose peace over panic, presence over perfection and truth over turmoil.
(Isaiah 26:3)
Loneliness
Even though I may feel lonely, I declare that I am not alone. My God sets the lonely in families and has placed me securely in His own. The Lord Himself goes before me, stays beside me, and surrounds me with His unfailing love. Today I choose YOUR truth over MY feelings-Your presence is with me, Your people are for me, and I belong.
(Psalm 68:6; Ephesians 2:19; Deuteronomy 31:8; Psalm 34:18)
Lost Hope
When I can't hold on to hope, Hope holds on to me.
Jesus is the anchor for my soul. When my grip weakens, His grip never does. He holds me steady in the storm and secure in my struggle. He reminds me that hope isn't something that I earn-it's someone who keeps me.
(Hebrews 6:19; Psalm 73:23)
Fear of Rejection
Because your Spirit is in me, I will love people without reservation and believe the best about them. I do not have to fear rejection because you have accepted me.
(Romans 8:15; 2 Corinthians 1:22)
