We live in a time where truth often feels flexible, beliefs are shaped by personal preference, and faith can become disconnected from any real foundation. But Christianity was never meant to be built on trends, emotions, or shifting opinions. From the earliest days of the Church, believers anchored their lives in truths rooted in Scripture and passed down through generations. That’s why The Creed still matters today. It reminds us that our faith is connected to something deeper, older, and stronger than ourselves.

What Is The Creed?

The word creed comes from the Latin word credo, meaning “I believe.” The Creed is a shared statement or confession of the core beliefs of the Christian faith, rooted in Scripture and passed down through generations.

In the early Church, believers faced confusion, false teaching, and cultural pressure surrounding the identity of Jesus and the core message of the gospel. The Creed helped define and preserve essential Christian beliefs, uniting followers of Jesus around biblical truth.

More than just a historical document, The Creed became a declaration of faith for generations of believers. Christians across nations, cultures, and denominations have confessed these same truths for centuries, reminding us that we are part of a much bigger story.

Why The Creed Matters

The Creed matters because it gives clarity to what we believe and keeps us grounded in truth.

In a culture where beliefs constantly shift, The Creed reminds us that truth is not something we create; it is something God reveals through His Word. It helps anchor our faith in the historic foundations of Christianity rather than in the changing opinions of culture.

The Creed also reminds us that faith was never meant to be shallow or disconnected from understanding. God invites us not only to believe, but to know what we believe and why it matters.

When we reflect on The Creed, we are reminded of who God is, what Jesus accomplished, and the hope we have because of the gospel.

Strong Enough to Sustain You

The goal of faith is not simply inspiration, it’s transformation. God desires to build in us a faith that is rooted, resilient, and strong enough to sustain us through every season of life.

The Creed points us back to the unchanging truth of Scripture and helps us build our lives on a foundation that lasts. Long after cultural trends fade, God’s truth remains.

When culture shifts, truth does not.
When opinions change, God’s character remains the same.
When questions arise, Scripture continues to provide wisdom, clarity, and hope.

Ancient truth still speaks to modern questions because people are still searching for hope, purpose, peace, and salvation. And the good news of Jesus still changes everything.

Build your life on truth that lasts.
Know what you believe.
And let your faith be anchored in something eternal.

The Creed

/ kred / noun
A shared statement or confession of the core beliefs of the Christian faith, rooted in Scripture and passed down through generations.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

On the third day, He rose again,

In accordance with the scriptures.

He ascended into heaven,

is seated at the right hand of the Father,

and will come again

to judge the living

and the dead.

His kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy universal Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and life everlasting. Amen.
