About

This 5-week class was created to help parents leverage the headstart they’ve been given in the race to the heart of their kids. 

Together, we’ll explore what God’s Word says about parenting to help participants discover their purpose as parents, communicate better with their families, make the most of the season they’re in, and establish values for future generations to build upon. 

We’re so excited to dive into this study with you and we believe the investment you’re making into these families will reap dividends for generations to come. Thank you for helping us get there first! 

Here’s a High-level Overview of the Class:

Week One Goal: Help parents discover the purpose of parenting 

  • Includes a funny opening slideshow meant to make parents laugh and connect 
  • Includes a 20-minute video teaching from Pastor Ryan McDermott 
Week Two Goal: Help parents maximize the season of parenting they’re in

  • Includes a 3-minute opening video called “It’s Just A Phase” 
  • This week includes three 8-minute video teachings from Pastors Oscar and Dalia Soto—you will pause between each of the teachings to allow for a 7-minute group discussion
  • This week also has a focus on discipline 
Week Three Goal: Help parents grow in their communication 

  • Includes a 32-minute conversation about temperaments between Pastor Ryan McDermott and Ashley Andrews 
  • There is a 20-question assessment on page 22 of the workbook, which parents will need to complete before coming to Week Three of this class
Week Four Goal: Help parents better manage their time and focus

  • Includes a 24-minute teaching from Pastor Lisa Duvall

Week Five Goal: Help parents establish values for future generations to build upon

  • Includes a 28-minute teaching from Pastors Todd and Julie Mullins 
  • There will be a break in this teaching where the facilitator will need to hit pause so parents can spend a few minutes writing down their family values
