What’s Your Big, Crazy Vision?

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Hebrews 11:1-3

And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.”
Habakkuk 2:2

As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18

DEVOTIONAL: 

Without purpose and direction, we tend to fill our life up with all sorts of meaningless things. And if you look around, it’s easy to see the epidemic of purposelessness in our world today. But having a vision is all about change. Vision is about seeing what needs to change—declaring what can change, what will change, and helping to direct people get there. Vision is like that bridge between where you are and where you need to go. 

Think about it. Somebody had to have a vision for a car, or else we’d still be in wagons. Somebody had to see a wagon that didn't need a horse. That's crazy. Somebody had to see a plane before there was ever a plane. The Wright brothers and everyone who worked on it had to envision a machine that could fly through the air like a bird and carry people on it. To envision something like that was crazy—and people let them know they were crazy—but people have always said that about dreamers. So why not go ahead and have a crazy big vision? 

We can dream big dreams because we have a big God. I’m believing that marriages in our region can be stronger and healthier than ever before. I’m believing that divorce rates will diminish as men learn how to love their wives as Christ loved the Church. Why shouldn’t we believe for a revival to break out in our prison systems in Florida? Why shouldn’t we believe for a revival in our public school system? Let's see it like the dreamers saw the bird flying through the air with people on his back. 

What’s your big, crazy vision? 

PRAYER: 

God, break my heart for the things that break your heart. Help me to live a life of vision and purpose that is led by your Spirit. Help me to avoid a life of distraction and to live on a mission for your Kingdom. Amen.
