In this message, Pastor Ryan shared about the journey of freedom in Christ and why we don’t need to travel alone. Use this guide to keep talking about your pursuit of freedom.

SERMON HIGHLIGHTS

  • Freedom is a journey.
  • Exodus: To bring out
  • God sees your suffering and He hears your cry.
  • God has raised up a Deliverer who has already secured your release.
  • You follow a faithful God who is with you every step of the way.
  • When God’s people move together in unison, there is strength.

KEY SCRIPTURES

START TALKING

  • Would you rather book a flight or take a road trip? What’s your favorite (or funniest) road trip memory?

KEEP TALKING

  • Pastor Ryan said, “Just because you’re on a long road doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong road.” When have you felt like your faith journey or your fight for freedom was taking longer than expected?
  • God didn’t just want to bring the Israelites out of Egypt—He wanted to bring Egypt out of them. What are some mindsets or habits that are keeping you living like you’re still in “Egypt”?
  • Read Exodus 13:17–18. God didn’t choose the route that was the most convenient. He chose the route that was best for His people. How have the confusing or inconvenient seasons of your life shaped your freedom journey and your faith?
  • Pastor Ryan said, “God’s presence was their provision.” What are some recent, specific ways you’ve seen God provide for you—spiritually, emotionally, or practically?
  • God is fighting for your freedom… will you? What do you need to do this week to get in “battle formation” so you can receive the freedom God is offering you?

KEEP IT GOING

  • Pastor Ryan challenged us to get in “battle formation” by getting in a small group and fighting for our freedom together. If you haven’t signed up for our brand new Freedom Study, sign up today!

PRAYER

Father, thank you for being faithful to us in every season. We’re so grateful you aren’t deaf to our cries. Show us where we’re settling for slavery instead of fighting for freedom. Give us the wisdom, patience, and people needed for the journey. We love you. Amen.
