There's power in prayer.

The weekend doesn't have to end. Keep Talking on your own or with a group.
Start Talking – Find conversation starters for the group or with a friend.
- Is there anything you did differently this week because of the message last week? Take a few minutes to share.
- Pastor Todd shared several stories about the forefathers of The United States that detail how integral the Christian faith was to its foundation. What feelings or thoughts did these stories and quotes evoke in you? Why?
Keep Reading – Read the scripture and ask a question to get the group thinking.
Read these Scriptures out loud:
2 Chronicles 7:14
- What are the 4 actions that God asks His people to do? Do you think the sequence of these actions is important? Why or why not?
- Out of these, which action do you find to be the most challenging? Why?
Jeremiah 29:13
- What does it mean to seek God “with all your heart”? What does that look like?
- What is holding you back from seeking God with all your heart?
Pastor Todd shared that revival is birthed out of a place of desperation, not unlike where we find ourselves today. His study of the major revivals that shook our nation throughout history reveals 3 common characteristics that were present in each of them.
A Call to Repentance
- Pastor Todd stated “More than just a recognition of sin, repentance is a deep remorse for that sin and a resolve to turn away from it. If we ever expect to see God bring revival to our nation, then we, as the people of God, have got to repent of the sin in our lives.” The word ‘wicked’ refers to anything that is in opposition to the will and the way of God.
- Have you become comfortable or calloused to sin in your life? Where are some places that this tends to pop up due to culture and other influences?
A Call to Holiness
- When we invite the Holy Spirit into our life every day, giving him full control over our attitudes, actions, and thought life, then the Holy Spirit begins to produce a spirit of holiness in us. Holiness isn’t something we do or try to make happen through deeds, it is actually the work that the Spirit of God does when He takes up residence inside of us.
- Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to change you from the inside out? Share about a transformation you have seen in your life due to God’s work in your heart. Share about what He is currently doing in your heart.
A Call to Prayer
- Revival doesn’t start out there, it starts with us, in our own hearts. When you reflect on your prayer life, what stands out to you? What do you pray about most?
- Read James 4:2. What are the benefits of talking to God about your problem versus worrying about it or talking with others about it?
Keep Moving/Going – Commit to a step and live it out this week.
- Repentance - Is there anything that the Holy Spirit is bringing to mind that you know isn’t God’s best for your life? Confess that to Him. Commit to stop going your own way and to turn and walk with God.
- Holiness - Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Invite him to correct you or redirect you. Pray: “Come Holy Spirit. Change the things in me that are not like Jesus. Produce your spirit of holiness on the inside of me.”
- Prayer - Wherever you are in your prayer life, take it to the next level by committing to more time in prayer this week. Set a realistic, but stretching goal and see it through. You will be glad you did!
