Start Talking - Find conversation starters for the group or with a friend.

• Describe a favorite Easter tradition you and your family treasure. What makes it so meaningful?
• Pastor Todd shared that Easter changed everything! What are some examples Pastor Todd described, and what others could you add?

Luke 24:2-6

• Read Luke 24:2-6 and share what questions you would have had if you were those first witnesses to the angels’ proclamation.
• This passage tells us the resurrection shouldn’t have surprised those closest to Jesus – He prophesied He would be resurrected! What promises has Jesus made to you that you are holding onto this week?

John 20:19-22

• Read John 20:19-22 and explain what you think the disciples felt when “suddenly” (NLT) Jesus appeared in that room, where they were hiding because they feared the Jewish leaders.
• What is the opposite of peace? Of all the things Jesus could have given those disciples, why did He know they needed peace?

Keep Talking – Choose questions to create openness.

Pastor Todd shared that Easter changed everything, and because Jesus is ALIVE, this is what YOU can experience today:

1. You can have PEACE.

• Pastor Todd shared that peace is based on the Jewish word shalom, which emphasizes wholeness and completeness, and it isn’t the absence of problems but the presence of Jesus. What do you believe is the biggest challenge for a Christian to walk in peace, knowing that problems can still be prevalent?
• What did Pastor Todd mean when he said, “You can’t experience the peace of God until you have peace with God”?
• Whether it’s a relationship, finances, work, or any other area of life, where do you need peace today?

2. Your Life has PURPOSE.

• Pastor Todd shared John 20:21: “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” He said this doesn’t mean God is sending you to another country, but your life has a purpose when you have a relationship with God. How would you describe this purpose in your life?
• “I know people that have been successful in business, etc., but they’re still searching for significance.” What does this quote from Pastor Todd mean to you?

3. You can have the PROMISE of Eternal Life.

• Explain what this statement means to you: “You’re a spiritual being created to live forever, having a physical existence.”
• Read 2 Corinthians 5:21. What did Jesus do for us on the cross? How does this establish and make possible our relationship with God? Why is our own “righteousness,” or good deeds, so inadequate?

Keep Moving/Going – Commit to a step and live it out this week.

In closing, Pastor Todd challenged us to pray one of two prayers:

• Have you ever received peace with God? If not, do so today by praying to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior!
• Christians should be people who walk in the power of the resurrection. We can do that because the Holy Spirit lives within each Christian (Romans 8:11). Will you pray to God, asking for His Spirit to guide and empower you, and let the peace of God surround everything you do this week?
• S.O.A.P out a passage of Scripture from this week.
